چکیده

An easy-to-use and environmentally friendly method is proposed to increase the fire retardancy of natural fibers. Hemp fibers were phosphorylated by grafting phytic acid, a renewable phosphorous flame retardant urea in aqueous solution. The characterized X-ray fluorescence, solid state 13C 31P NMR analysis, pyrolysis combustion flow calorimetry tensile testing. swelling behavior evaluated optical microscopy observations showed that promotes consequently P N fiber. It has been also shown bleaching step delignification makes cellulose slightly more accessible for grafting. Non-flammable produced with relatively low contents (> 0.5 % w/w > 0.7 respectively). However, phosphorylation process significantly decreased crystallinity mechanical properties resulting For = 0.9 %, 30 decrease strength hemp was observed. production pyrophosphate thermal dehydration acid from results.

Clay-chitosan nanobrick walls: completely renewable gas barrier and flame-retardant nanocoatings.

Thin films prepared via a layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly of renewable materials exhibit exceptional oxygen barrier and flame-retardant properties. Positively charged chitosan (CH), at two different pH levels (pH 3 and pH 6), was paired with anionic montmorillonite (MMT) clay nanoplatelets. Thin-film assemblies prepared with CH at high pH are thicker, because if the low polymer charge density. A ...

A review of flame retardant polypropylene fibres

Flame retardants for polypropylene (PP) and their potential suitability for use in fibre applications are reviewed. Five principal types of generic flame retardant systems for inclusion in polypropylene fibres have been identified as phosphoruscontaining, halogen-containing, silicon-containing, metal hydrate and oxide and the more recently developed nanocomposite flame retardant formulations. T...

A Novel Non-Halogenated Flame Retardant for Composite Materials

Flame retardants, such as inorganic fillers or halogenated resins, are incorporated into composites either as additives or reactive materials. In order to improve processability and mechanical properties, as well as reduce smoke toxicity, a method is being developed to introduce highly effective, inexpensive flame retardant materials into thermoset resins. Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) can be l...

Epoxy-based Flame Retardant Nanocomposite Coatings: Comparison Between Functions of Expandable Graphite and Halloysite Nanotubes

Whis work presents a study on the flammability of epoxy coatings containing two types of nano-scale fillers as potential flame retardants: expandable graphite (EG) and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs). Both nanocomposites are prepared by incorporation of the same amount of nanofiller into the epoxy resin for the sake of comparison. Fire retardant nanocomposite coatings are cured through a two-stage ...
